Ohio Craft Beer Roots Since 1995
Long before craft beer became a movement, it was a curiosity. A handful of pioneers across the country were quietly rewriting what American beer could be. In the fall of 1995, The Brew Kettle stepped into that frontier as Ohio’s first brew-on-premise microbrewery, planting a flag in what would become a booming craft beer landscape.
Born in Strongsville, just outside Cleveland, The Brew Kettle wasn’t just a brewery, it was an invitation. An open door to anyone who ever wondered, “Could I make my own beer?”
And the answer was, and still is: absolutely. 🍻
The Original Brew-On-Premise Experience
At its core, The Brew Kettle was built on something radically hands-on.
Instead of simply pouring pints, we put brewers behind the kettle. Guests could step into the process, guided by experienced brewing staff, using professional equipment and the freshest ingredients available. No guesswork. No shortcuts. Just real brewing.
Each session became part science, part social gathering. Groups would reserve kettles, share laughs, swap ideas, and create something tangible together.
Brew sessions last approximately 2.5 hours
Each batch yields roughly 6 cases of beer (22oz bottles)
Options to bottle or keg for home draft systems
Full fermentation handled onsite by our team
Two weeks later, what started as grain and hops returns as something personal:
“That’s my beer.”
From 35,000 Batches to a Craft Beer Legacy
Over the years, The Brew Kettle has helped produce tens of thousands of batches of beer, each one adding to a legacy rooted in education, craftsmanship, and community.
But something else happened along the way.
As guests fell in love with the process, they also fell in love with the beer itself. That passion fueled an evolution from a single microbrewery concept into a full-scale craft brewery and brewpub experience.
